Yet despite its rich history and worldwide influence, jazz is disappearing from many communities. Music programs continue to shrink. Young musicians have fewer opportunities to learn from professionals. Local artists struggle to find places to perform. Audiences who love jazz often have to leave Frederick County to experience world-class performances.

The Frederick Jazz Society exists to change that.

Founded in 2025, the Frederick Jazz Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating, educating, presenting, and promoting jazz in Frederick County and beyond. Through concerts, educational programming, artist development, and community partnerships, we are building a vibrant jazz culture that enriches the entire community.
