FJS Presents: Gen Z Jazz Under the Stars

Pianists/Keyboardists Ryan Barrett, Kian Linam and Minh Vo all have several things in common: they are under the age of 22, they are former students of Eric Byrd, and all of them are playing Black American Music at extremely high levels.

Join us at Sky Stage for an evening showcasing the next generation of musical talent. This special performance highlights the creativity, artistry, and dedication of emerging musicians from the Jazz community. Audiences can expect a diverse program of jazz standards, contemporary favorites, and original improvisations as these talented performers demonstrate the skills they have developed through years of study and performance. Each pianist brings a unique musical voice, creating an inspiring evening filled with energy, expression, and spontaneity.

Ryan will be attending University of North Texas to pursue a degree in Jazz Piano Performance. Kian is entering his second year at Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore studying Jazz Piano. Minh Vo is attend the University of Maryland and is currently recording his debut recording as a leader.
